Do you replace an internal HR team?
In some cases, Graphite operates as the HR function. In others, Graphite works alongside internal leaders who need more structure, execution support, or additional capacity. The service is designed to flex based on what the organization needs.
What are the different HR engagement levels?
Graphite HR is delivered through Advisory, Core, and Plus models. Advisory is more guidance-focused. Core adds more operational execution. Plus extends into deeper strategic and higher-touch HR support.
What happens during HR onboarding?
HR onboarding includes reviewing the company’s current HR posture, handbook, policies, documentation, and employee processes. From there, Graphite identifies what needs to be tightened, updated, or built so the ongoing HR function can run more cleanly.
Can you update or create our employee handbook?
Yes. Handbook creation and maintenance is a core part of the service.
Do you support terminations and offboarding?
Yes. Graphite supports terminations, offboarding, documentation, checklists, and related coordination within scope. That includes helping the process run more consistently with stronger documentation.
Do you support managers with employee issues?
Yes. Manager guidance is a core part of the service. Graphite helps with policy interpretation, employee relations guidance, performance issues, disciplinary steps, and next-step recommendations.
Do you handle benefits administration?
Graphite supports benefits-related process and documentation where it connects to the broader employee lifecycle. Benefits brokerage and carrier negotiation are outside standard scope.
Do you make final employment decisions for us?
Graphite provides guidance, structure, documentation, and support. Final employment and business decisions remain with the client.
How does Graphite HR work with Graphite Payroll?
HR and Payroll often work closely together. HR supports employee-side processes and documentation, while Payroll handles payroll execution. When both services are in place, Graphite coordinates that work internally.
What is out of scope?
Recruiting, interviewing, immigration matters, specialized legal services, benefits brokerage, and certain higher-complexity regulatory or board-level HR work sit outside standard scope unless separately agreed.
