What Happens When Scope Changes

How Graphite reviews service scope when a client’s needs, complexity, or support requirements change.

Scope Change Overview

As companies grow, the work required to support them can change. Transaction volume may increase, new entities or states may be added, headcount may grow, systems may change, or reporting and advisory needs may become more complex.

When that happens, Graphite may review the engagement to make sure the service model, scope, pricing, and expectations still match the work being performed. The goal is to keep the engagement aligned with the current needs of the business.

Why Scope May Need Review

Scope reviews usually happen when the work starts to look meaningfully different from what was originally agreed. That might come from growth, added complexity, new service needs, expanded responsibilities, or changes in how much support the company needs from Graphite.

A scope review does not always mean the engagement will change. Sometimes the current structure still works. In other cases, Graphite may recommend an adjustment to scope, pricing, service level, or related support.

What Clients Can Expect

If a scope review is needed, Graphite will explain what changed, why it matters, and what update may be recommended. That may include a revised scope, a pricing adjustment, a service change, or a recommendation to add another Graphite service.

The purpose is to keep responsibilities clear and make sure the service model continues to support the work properly as the business evolves.

Why This Matters

Scope clarity protects the service experience. When both teams understand what is included, what has changed, and what level of support is needed, the engagement is easier to manage and more sustainable over time.
